Everton: Farhad Moshiri makes another poor financial decision after accounts reveal

Dan Plumley has stated that Everton’s decision to increase staff levels despite their dire financial situation was not the smartest choice at Goodison Park.

Paul Brown confessed he was surprised to see in the club’s latest finances that personnel numbers had climbed by 41 despite financial challenges.

The football finance specialist stated that it is unlikely to be a good move and that Farhad Moshiri has made another terrible financial management mistake.

“I think the club will always see it as business as usual,” he told Goodison News exclusively.

“We saw assertions from Moshiri right from the start when the first verdict was issued on the business model and the plan was to be a regular top-eight Premier League football team, which was a massive ask.

“Investing in the playing squad and other staff to be able to do so is vital, but at this point, it’s probably not the best decision to do.

“There were a lot of expectations there about being a fixture in the top half of the Premier League, which was a difficult goal to achieve.

“That isn’t just this set of accounts and the staffing increase; it’s going back five years and looking at the bigger picture. There have been some extremely awful financial management decisions, and this is one of them.

The Toffees will find out their destiny from their second Premier League charge any day now, and if it results in another points deduction, relegation is a possibility.

After the latest accounts and moves from Moshiri, it is no surprise that the club is in this situation, and something must be done immediately to turn things around.

In other Everton news, the destiny of the club will be decided on April 15, following a brand new 777 upgrade.
