Tiger Woods has been giving a timeline to decide whether he wants to captain the USA at next year’s Ryder Cup.

Tiger Woods is a contender to captain the USA at the 2025 Ryder Cup, but the golf legend is focusing solely on the Masters as he attempts to win a sixth Green Jacket

Tiger Woods has until the end of the month to decide whether he wants to captain the United States at next year’s Ryder Cup.

The PGA of America offered Woods the role following their defeat to Europe last year, and when asked about the captaincy ahead of the Masters, the 48-year-old stated that talks will begin next week.

“We’re still talking about it,” he explained. “It’s something Seth [Waugh, the PGA of America’s CEO] and I will discuss after the event.

“I said I’m going to be busy for a couple weeks, so let me focus on getting through this week and hopefully getting another jacket, and then we can sit back and talk about it next week.”

Despite the fact that he has only played six full Tour events since a catastrophic automobile accident in February 2021, Woods believes he can win his sixth Masters this year if “everything comes together”.

“The ankle doesn’t hurt anymore,” Woods revealed. “It’s fused, so that’s okay. Other regions of my body are now bearing the brunt of it. Every shot that is not from a tee box presents a difficulty. I ache every day, and I enjoy it warm, humid, and hot.

“I know we’re going to have some thunderstorms. So it will at least be hot, unlike last year. If everything comes together, I believe I can get one more. Do I need to describe it any more, or are we done?”

Fred Couples, the 1992 Masters champion, believes Woods has a chance to win this year as he chases Jack Nicklaus’ record of 18 majors. Couples played nine holes with Woods earlier this week and asked, “Can he win here?” You know, yeah.

“I just watched him play nine holes, and it’s only nine holes on a Tuesday, but he never misses a shot.” But the concept of making a cut, I believe he would chuckle since it is a huge record, but he is here to win. He’s come to play very, really hard.”
