Sheffield Wednesday’s Hopes Of Keeping Danny Rohl Boosted

According to journalist Alan Nixon, Sheffield Wednesday manager Danny Rohl is unlikely to be the next Sunderland manager because of the compensation required to replace him at Hillsborough.

Rohl has struck the eye with his remarkable work at Sheffield Wednesday since taking over, giving the Owls a fighting chance to stay in the Championship.

Sunderland are seeking for a new manager and are supporters of Rohl’s work at Hillsborough.

The German is being considered at the Stadium of Light, but it has been stated that the expense of a deal may preclude him.

To bring Rohl to the north east, Sunderland would have to pay Sheffield Wednesday a significant sum of money.

As a result, it is unlikely that they will move to bring in the Owls manager.

Rohl is now focused on Sheffield Wednesday’s Championship survival bid, with the Owls sitting second from bottom and one point from safety.

They are set to face Sunderland at the Stadium of Light in the season’s last game, giving Rohl another opportunity to impress the Black Cats.
