West Ham United star was rushed back to the hospital after been discharged from sustaining worrying head injury in the wake of the Hammers’ 2-0 defeat against Fulham at the weekend.

George Earthy made his West Ham United first-team debut on Sunday in a 2-0 loss to Fulham; however, what should have been a memorable moment for the young man was marred by great concern when he was stretchered off the field with a head injury in additional time.

He clashed with teammate Edson Alvarez in the second half, resulting in a lengthy period of on-field treatment from a variety of physiotherapists. Earthy had only nine minutes on the pitch, seven of which were spent receiving treatment.
Earthy was discharged from the hospital earlier today. A statement on West Ham’s official club website reads: “West Ham United’s George Earthy has been discharged from hospital following the head injury he sustained in Sunday’s Premier League match against Fulham.

“Earthy, 19, came on as a late second-half replacement to make his Premier League debut at London Stadium, only to be replaced in stoppage time. He was promptly sent to a nearby hospital for additional evaluation. Earthy will now follow FA and Premier League concussion standards before returning to play.

“West Ham United wishes to express its gratitude to our own medical team, as well as their counterparts at Fulham and Medics24, our pitchside rescue squad, for their prompt response to yesterday’s incident. The Club also expresses gratitude for the numerous words of support sent to George. Everyone at West Ham United wishes George a swift and safe recovery.

Additionally, Performance Director Richard Collinge stated, “George is back home, and we will continue to monitor him over the coming days as he completes the graduated return to play programme.”

Earthy has made 20 Premier League 2 appearances for the Hammers’ U21s this season, scoring nine goals and providing nine assists.
