Former Sheffield Wednesday boss Darren Moore has just proved Dejphon Chansiri right

As far as contentious football club owners go, Dejphon Chansiri of Sheffield Wednesday is right up there.

Chansiri has created numerous headlines this season.

His leadership of the club, as well as his somewhat immature club pronouncements directed at the devoted Sheffield Wednesday fans, has prompted the Owls faithful to mount their most vocal protest against the administration to date.

The 1867 Group has established and has organized several protests, with an increasing number of followers.

But, for all of his mistakes at Hillsborough in the previous year or two, Chansiri appears to have made one excellent decision.

Sheffield Wednesday managers throughout the previous 12 months

Sheffield Wednesday are not new to recruiting and firing managers.

But after Darren Moore led the Owls to promotion from League One after just over two full seasons in charge, it appeared that some stability was on the way at the club.

Moore eventually left Sheffield Wednesday by mutual consent, only 47 days before the current Championship season began.

Xisco Munoz replaced Moore and lasted only 12 games, winning none of them, making him Sheffield Wednesday’s poorest manager in history.

Danny Rohl later succeeded Munoz, who had been disregarded by Chansiri after Moore’s departure.

Rohl has 13 wins from 35 games in charge of the Owls and 44 points in the Championship so far, but Wednesday remains in 23rd position, one point behind.

Darren Moore’s record with Port Vale

Moore sat out a few months after leaving Sheffield Wednesday.

But he returned to Huddersfield Town in September, diving right into the heart of things but not staying long.

Moore played just 23 games for Huddersfield, winning only three.

Moore wasted no time in returning to the dugout after being sacked, signing a five-and-a-half-year contract with League One Port Vale.

Moore, on the other hand, has two wins in 15 games at Vale, and his team is three points behind in League One with two games remaining after losing 2-1 to Wycombe Wanderers on Tuesday night.

Dejphon Chansiri was correct about Darren Moore.
According to Chansiri, he and Moore parted ways because Moore desired a new and much improved contract.

Chansiri stated that he was eager to compromise but that Moore’s rates were simply too expensive, though Moore maintained that their feud was over money.

So Chansiri evidently did not hold Moore in high respect, since he was willing to let him go barely six weeks before the new season began.

And Moore’s fall from favor following his Wednesday leave may demonstrate that; if Moore had continued in command this season, the Owls may already be out.

Rohl has done well for Sheffield Wednesday, and while the club and fans still owe a lot to Moore, his five wins with two different clubs this season signal that he is not made out for the Championship.
