Danny Röhl makes Sheffield Wednesday points claim due to…

Danny Röhl has already made clear he doesn’t expect much help from results elsewhere in Sheffield Wednesday’s bid for survival – and that they must rely only on themselves.

The Owls manager saw no reason why his team couldn’t recover from a disappointing 1-1 draw last weekend to earn maximum points from their last three games – an effort that would almost certainly seal second-tier status next season.

Blackburn Rovers lead Wednesday by four points, with the Owls in 17th place. The match will be played on Sunday, with all other relegation playoff games taking place on Saturday. While the scenario should allow Röhl to adjust his plans properly, it is apparent that Wednesday will try to win all three points.
Over 7,000 travelling supporters will cheer on the Owls in Lancashire.

“This week is special because all the teams play before us, so we will know the results,” Röhl was quoted as saying by The Star. “That will tell me a little bit about how we’ll play in that game, but of course, nine points. We can take nine points. That would be 53 points; then we’ll see. At the moment, I’m not sure if 50 is enough this season.

“Is it fair or unfair?” that’s not my decision, and we have to accept that. There are many things that may not be fair, but I cannot change them. I can only assist my team win.”
