Sir Nick Faldo made an extremely bold claim after watching a recent clip of rising PGA Tour star

Sir Nick Faldo is no stranger to making bold assertions.

Consider his thoughts on Jon Rahm before he attempted to defend the 2024 Masters.

According to Faldo, Rahm had not been tested in the lead-up to the major because to his move to LIV.

Faldo stated Rahm was in for an unpleasant revelation because he had been playing resort courses in his shorts.

After the major was over, the three-time Masters champion turned the tables on Rahm by re-sharing his opinions.

This newest assertion by the Englishman was not a dig at all.

Aberg was competing in his first PGA Tour event since placing second in his Masters – and major – debut.

The Swedish phenom stiffed a massive, soaring 2-iron from 272 yards.

As Fore Play pointed out, it was the type of shot that should be prohibited.

Faldo concurred, commenting on X, “Is this the best golf swing you’ve ever seen, or what?” “Plane perfection.”

That’s some great praise right there.

Aberg went on to shoot a five-under 66 in the opening round of the hallmark event.

Despite the attention, Aberg looks to be working very hard to remain grounded.

His chances at the green jacket were ended when he dipped his second shot at the 11th into the sea.

The costly double bogey gave eventual winner Scottie Scheffler some breathing room before he drew away.

Despite the implications of the shot, Aberg was captured on camera smiling after the error.

When asked about the incident by a reporter earlier this week, he had the right response.

“I felt very fortunate to still be playing a major championship Sunday back nine in contention,” that’s what he stated.

“[It] is everything I’ve ever wanted in my career.

“Even though I made a dumb mistake on 11, I was still in the hunt, and I still felt very fortunate to be in that situation.”
