Wisconsin Badgers football Head coach Luke Fickell signs divorce with wife due to…

Gabe Kirschke, the Wisconsin Badgers’ outside linebacker, revealed on Thursday that he is entering the transfer portal.

Kirschke, a walk-on for the Badgers’ Class of 2022, will leave with three years of eligibility remaining.

Kirschke spent the spring largely playing outside linebacker for the third-team defense, with true freshman Thomas Heiberger and Anelu Lafaele.

The outside linebacker appeared in one game as a true freshman, but has not played since.

The Badgers spent the offseason working to improve the outside linebacker position after not seeing much productivity from the group last year, bringing in transfers Leon Lowery and John Pius, while Heiberger and Lafaele were part of a strong 2024 freshmen class.

Wisconsin presently has six scholarship outside linebackers, including Lowery, Pius, Darryl Peterson, Aaron Witt, Heiberger, and Lafaele.

Kirschke is the third transfer this summer, behind quarterback Nick Evers and defensive lineman T.J. Bollers.
