Seahawks make huge changes to move away from Pete Carroll era

The Seattle Seahawks appear to be fast moving on from the Pete Carroll era in an impressive fashion.

According to Matt Calkins of the Seattle Times, new Seahawks coach Mike Macdonald has made considerable modifications around the club facility, virtually erasing Carroll’s imprint. This features all of the images of significant moments that were previously outside the team room, like as Marshawn Lynch’s “Beast Quake” run and Richard Sherman’s tipped pass in the 2013 NFC Championship game, which clinched victory.

The team didn’t stop there; Carroll’s mantras “Always compete” and “All in!” were also eliminated. Macdonald even removed the basketball hoop Carroll had installed in the main conference area.

This might be contentious in some quarters, especially because Carroll has hinted that he was forced out as head coach. However, Macdonald’s intentions are unlikely to be malicious. Carroll has been in command since 2010, and Macdonald certainly wants his players to be free to enjoy a fresh start without being weighted down by the previous regime’s triumphs.

Almost everyone on the Seahawks’ championship team is now gone. The banners will continue to hang, but that appears to be the extent of the team facility.
