The Philadelphia Phillies have fired coach following their recent…

The Philadelphia Phillies are not sitting idle following their mistake in Game 7 of the National League Championship Series against the Arizona Diamondbacks.

It is not commonplace to make coaching changes after a season, especially if it ended in failure.

On Thursday, the organization announced the departure of bullpen coach Dave Lundquist and assistant hitting coach Jason Camilli. However, the remaining Major League coaching staff will return for the 2024 season.

Here is the team’s news statement about each coach:

Lundquist, 50, was named bullpen coach for the 2021 season after originally joining the Phillies’ major league staff in 2019 as an assistant pitching coach. Lundquist, a former pitcher, spent 11 years as a coach on the Phillies’ player development staff from 2008 to 2018. He began his coaching career in the Pittsburgh Pirates’ minor league system (2005–2007).

Camilli, 48, has been named the assistant hitting coach for the 2022 season. Before joining the Phillies, the former infielder worked as a hitting instructor with the Montreal Expos/Washington Nationals (2004-08), Arizona Diamondbacks (2012-20), and Cincinnati Reds (2021) minor league systems.

The Phillies will not spend the winter trying to rebuild their roster and find out how to return to the World Series.

All free agent and trade negotiations will center on addressing their rotating requirements, particularly with Aaron Nola set to hit free agency.

Furthermore, with Bryce Harper demonstrating his ability to play first base, the future of fan favorite Rhys Hoskins is uncertain.

Regardless, the changes are coming, and they began on Thursday with Lundquist and Camili.
