Breaking News: Denver Broncos coach Sean Payton resign as his contract was terminated following the recent…

The Denver Broncos announced the selection of their new head coach, after Nathaniel Hackett’s experiment proved unsuccessful this season, despite boasting a Top 10 defense and a Super Bowl-winning quarterback in Russell Wilson. They made the announcement via their official website and social media.

Because Payton was still under contract with the New Orleans Saints, the Broncos arranged a trade for a 2023 first-round pick, a 2024 second-round pick, and a future third-round pick, according to ESPN.

Greg Penner, the team’s owner and CEO, also made the news. Payton signed a five-year contract with the team, keeping him in Denver until the 2027 season.

Here are Penner’s views on Payton’s arrival with the Broncos:

“Sean Payton is an amazing leader, a Super Bowl champion, and an outstanding offensive genius. He shares our dedication to winning championships for Broncos Country, and we are thrilled to have him as our next head coach.

“Sean understands how to create a championship culture with high expectations. He coaches with intensity and attention to detail, creating and upholding high standards. Sean dedicates his heart and soul to winning via preparation, inventiveness, and a real passion for the game.

“Hiring a coach with Sean’s credentials is rare in any sport, and we applaud the Saints’ professional approach to this process. We also appreciate having the opportunity to meet and learn from the other extremely skilled and great coaches we interviewed.

“Our goal was to identify a strong leader for the Denver Broncos who is focused on winning, and we found that in Coach Payton.”
