Despite being in a pivotal match at the bottom of the standings, Sheffield Wednesday has not been chosen for a television broadcast on the last day. Danny Rohl’s team is aware that they only need a point to secure their spot in the playoffs this coming weekend; if either Plymouth Argyle or Birmingham City lose, they would still advance. Fans who are unable to travel to the Stadium of Light will not be able to watch the game live on television, but there will be plenty of pressure on that decisive day matchup with the Black Cats.
This is as a result of Sky Sports choosing to show three separate games on the championship weekend. The games between Leeds United and Southampton and Ipswich Town and Huddersfield Town will be televised, as anticipated; the outcome of the automatic promotion battle is still up in the air.
