Philadelphia Phillies ace wasn’t pleased with what coach said the last time he took the mound.

The Philadelphia Phillies defeated the Los Angeles Angels 2-1 on Wednesday to take control of the series, giving them a two-game lead going into their final West Coast tour.

Before beginning a four-game series against the San Francisco Giants on Friday, they enjoyed a well-deserved day off.

The Phillies are in the running to capture their first NL East championship since 2011 and the team’s spirits are at an all-time high this season thanks to their offensive finally finding its groove.

Not everyone seems to be happy with what happened on Wednesday, though.

Even though he deserved to win, Zack Wheeler was very critical of his performance when he took the mound for the final appearance.

When asked what felt wrong during their victory, he said, “Everything,” according to Corey Seidman of NBC Sports Philadelphia.

He’s probably talking about the fact that after 74 pitches in the first three innings, he was only able to complete five innings. By the time he was pulled, he had thrown 106 pitches, 25 of which had been fouled off.

Before this start, Wheeler was granted an additional day of relaxation, and he once again expressed his disapproval of it.

“Having more days off and not being as alert, I believe that was more of a habit this time. It’s just another day of trying to maintain the rhythm I’ve had going, just another day to try to keep it in tune, but there are definitely times over the season when you’ll need it,” he remarked.

Rob Thomson, the manager, is considering this while deciding how to handle Spencer Turnbull, who has shown dominance each time he has received the ball.

They are probably paying attention to his input because of how crucial their ace is to this team.
