Breaking: Buffalo Bills’ GM Brandon Beane hit praise on Josh Allen for risking his life to save a life as he….

Pass protection is important when assessing running backs.

In fact, that was the first thing Buffalo Bills general manager Brandon Beane observed while analyzing fourth-round draft pick Ray Davis.

“Every time I see him, I remember one play he made against Vandy [Vanderbilt]. “There’s a backer or a safety coming off the edge, he’s in pass protection, and he levels this guy,” Beane said during a press conference in Orchard Park. “I recall seeing it in the autumn. That was always the first play that came to me when I watched this child.”

The Bills used the No. 128 overall pick on Davis, who will most likely replace RB1 James Cook on occasion while also having the opportunity to contribute as a receiver out of the backfield.

In addition to 1,129 yards rushing on 199 touches, Davis led Kentucky with seven touchdown receptions in 2023. He had 323 yards receiving on 33 receptions.

Davis, who has excelled at three Division I institutions, “plays violent” and is expected to bring an attitude that will aid the offense.

“He is rough. “He’ll give the group a slight edge,” Beane remarked.
