Crystal Palace want to spend half of Olise’s release clause on 11-goal winger

A goal-scoring winger is the possible new acquisition Crystal Palace has identified for this summer as Oliver Glasner aims to carry on his revolution at Selhurst Park.

Future plans for Olise unclear
Regarding the South London outfit, one of the major unanswered questions is over Michael Olise’s future. Although the gifted winger has had yet another injury-plagued season, he is still a highly sought-after player in the Premier League and throughout Europe.

When Chelsea activated Olise’s £35 million release clause last summer, they believed they had found a steal. However, Olise chose to stay at Selhurst Park and sign a new contract, which reportedly increased the clause to £60 million.

Though United in particular has made him a top target, that is not seen to be a significant barrier, with Arsenal, Manchester City, and Manchester United all reportedly interested in signing him this summer.

Though he is reportedly eager to play Champions League football if he were to leave South London before the new season began, it is unclear if he will depart this summer.

He is not the only player who might leave, though, as Palace has put a £60 million price tag on teammate Eberechi Eze, who is also in high demand in the Premier League due to interest from Tottenham and Manchester City.

It now seems that Palace is keeping a careful eye on another youthful talent and is already preparing for a fresh life in attack.

Palace observing the Serie A player
This is in response to reports from the Italian publication Gazzetta dello Sport [via Sport Witness] indicating that Glasner’s team is among many Premier League teams monitoring promising winger Matias Soulé. The 21-year-old Argentine has a contract with Juventus, but he has played for Frosinone on loan this season, scoring 11 goals and providing three assists in 33 Serie A games.
However, the rumor states that he will not be going back to Juventus, as the Old Lady wants to take advantage of his strong performance to pay for their own transfer business. Because of this, they ‘expect to receive offers’ for his services of between 30 and 35 million euros (£26 and £30 million), with Palace and Brentford being the two teams most interested in making a deal.

Furthermore, Soule has already stated that he would prefer to play in England’s premier league: “If they give me the choice of a league, I would go to England.” This may potentially be encouraging for both parties. It’s a league of the best, as everyone knows, and playing there would be an incredible experience. Additionally, I hope to continue working at Juventus.

The amount is around half of what Palace would get if Olise were to leave the team this summer, giving them plenty of room to bolster their roster before the new campaign begins. If they determine Soule is their man, though, they will have to fend off interest from the Premier League.
