Coventry City boss Mark Robins has plenty of admirers – one of them is Manchester United

In his homage to Coventry City manager Mark Robins, Steve Bruce expressed his desire to see his old colleague take a crack at the Premier League before his time as manager comes to an end.

The seasoned former Manchester United defender has vast managerial experience throughout all English divisions, and he wants the Sky Blues manager to get the same chance.

Bruce said, “He’s been doing it very, very quietly now for years when Coventry haven’t had money and they don’t have a stadium,” in an interview with Betway. He consistently generated players, teams, and playing styles. He has maintained his dignity, and I am greatly respected. He is someone I’ve known for a very long time.

“I hope before he calls it a day that he gets the chance to manage in the big league, because for me, he certainly deserves it.”

Bruce has praised Robins before. This is not the first time. He had a lot of nice things to say before his West Brom team played City in 2022.

“I am going to say nice things about him; I played with him, and thirty years ago, he scored a goal against Notts Forest,” he said. (The iconic goal that kept Sir Alex Ferguson in his position)

He’s always performed admirably wherever he’s gone, and in my opinion, he’s never really been given the chance to show what he could accomplish with some money. He has undoubtedly performed admirably for Coventry under trying conditions. What a position! It seems like nobody could have done it better.

Well done, sir. He performed admirably.

When asked if he believed that Robins was management material when they were United players, he replied, “He always had a bit of a stoic manner about him,” before making a joke to the assembled media during his post-match news conference. “That’s a nice word for me… What is meant by that? Something about him, a hint of roughness… What is the correct spelling for it?
