Guard Luka Doncic of the Dallas Mavericks has clearly endured a great deal of agony during his team’s Western Conference semifinal matchup against the Oklahoma City Thunder. He sounded worn out discussing it on Monday.
At American Airlines Center in Dallas, Texas, the Mavericks lost 100–96 to the Thunder, letting a Game 4 victory slip away.
For the majority of the game, the Mavs led by as much as 14 points. But the Thunder were able to knot the series 2-2 thanks to a late collapse and a few missed free throws, including one by Doncic.
Following the Game 4 match, Doncic—who has struggled with both knee and ankle problems throughout the series—was questioned about his physical condition. The Slovenian responded in what appeared to be a caustic manner.
“Luka, you did a great job playing defense today, er, tonight. How do you feel right now, just physically? inquired the journalist.
Doncic responded to the question with a smug grin and a single word.

Doncic’s postseason press conferences have been very exciting lately. A video from Doncic’s postgame press conference went viral last week following the Mavericks’ Game 2 victory for an odd reason.
But Doncic’s performance in Game 4 was far from “great,” as he ended with just 18 points on 6/20 shooting from the field.
In a game that was decided by four points, Dallas’ free throw shooting performance was appalling, going 12/23 (52.2%).
