Dallas Cowboys head coach Mike McCarthy reveals his not interested in his contract as he provides timeline departure

Some in the NFL were intrigued by Cowboys head coach Mike McCarthy’s decision to take charge of the offense and call plays for the 2023 campaign, while others were skeptical.

He hired Brian Schottenheimer as Dallas’ new offensive coordinator, constructed the Cowboys’ scheme in his own image, and let Kellen Moore join Justin Herbert at the Chargers. It’s safe to assume that everyone was curious about the outcome.

The NFL received a response.

With the greatest scoring offense in the NFL, Dallas enters today’s game against the Bills on a five-game winning streak and averages 32.4 points, 381.5 total yards, 262.8 passing yards, and 0.9 turnovers per game.

In 2023, Dak Prescott is expected to reach new career highs in both passer rating (107.5) and completion percentage (69.3). He is headed for his best statistical season. His touchdown-to-interception ratio of 28–6 is the highest it has been since his 2016 rookie campaign.

Even though Dallas still has a lot of games left in its season, owner Jerry Jones was questioned by NFL.com at the December League Meeting in Dallas about whether he thought McCarthy’s contract extension would follow the team’s success. The answer was in the affirmative.
