Max Verstappen refuses to accept Lewis Hamilton’s apology after incident in Imola practice

After winning four championships, the Dutchman was not in the mood for diplomacy, so Hamilton tried to apologize to him.

of the first six races of 2024, Benjamin came to the Imola circuit in Italy as the favorite, but if Friday’s practice sessions are any indication, he’s going to have a difficult weekend. He found it difficult to settle into his Red Bull, ending the afternoon session approximately half a second slower than Ferrari’s Charles L. Clair. Ven’s rough day also involved a heated exchange with Hamilton after the seven-time champion unintentionally blocked the 26-year-old at a narrow part of the circuit while he was on a fast lap. Ven then proceeded to cut in front of Hamilton’s Mercedes and waved his fists at him in disgust, to which the 39-year-old apologized by raising both hands in the air. Vapen refused to accept Hamilton’s apology, telling the media that it’s just not the first time you try to of course always stay calm about it but yes it happened again at the other end also I don’t want to really talk about it too much because that’s not our issue but Hamilton wasn’t the only driver who got on the wrong side of in Imola. The three-time champion finished fourth fastest in the session and then all of a sudden he was right on me but ultimately it was my mistake.
The Aston Martin driver said over the team radio that he feels alone on the track. Aside from these incidents, Hamilton’s practice has been unusually positive. He has struggled with Mercedes’s lack of pace in the early races. The weekend has started well; we were able to run all three tire compounds, and the car felt balanced. I felt optimistic about the situation. A few other teams, especially McLaren and Ferrari, looked quick, but we’re a lot closer than we have been so far this season. Not to get ahead of ourselves
