ESPN: Shannon Sharpe American football tight end made a brutal mistake on ESPN while talking about Mavericks as he….

Looks like Stephen A. Smith isn’t the only famous guy on ESPN who can make mistakes.

Shannon Sharpe was speaking during a preview of the upcoming Western Conference Finals between the Minnesota Timberwolves and the Dallas Mavericks on Monday’s episode of “First Take.” Regarding the Mavericks’ frontcourt, Sharpe mentioned that Dereck Lively II and Daniel Gafford typically play different amounts of minutes. Then, he hinted that Dallas would think about including JaVale McGee in the center rotation.

Sharpe stated, “If my memory serves me correctly, JaVale McGee is on that side and he’s with the Mavericks.” “Is there any chance we’ll see [him]?”

Unfortunately, though, McGee has not been with the Mavericks for the entire season. McGee played for Dallas for the 2022–2023 season, but he has been with the Sacramento Kings for the entire year.

Though perhaps because of a producer speaking into his headset, Sharpe realized his error fast and corrected McGee, saying, “Nah, he’s not there.”

To Sharpe’s credit, McGee is a little-used reserve player off the bench who has spent his NBA career on nine different clubs, so it’s hard to know for sure where he is these days. However, that was still a fairly unpleasant error for Sharpe to make live, much like Smith’s was on a show last month.
