ESPN: New York Yankees terminate manager Aaron Boone contract due to….

Juan Soto, the slugger for the New York Yankees, is considered by many to be among the top batsmen in Major League Baseball, but one player feels that Soto receives too much praise.

One player voted Soto the most overrated player in baseball for the 2024 edition of The Athletic’s Player Poll.

The player who chose him remarked, “Could be a spite pick, to be honest.” “It seems to me that he just walks and hits singles; he doesn’t seem to hit for power as often as people think. Not a decent fielder either.”

The assertion about Soto’s hitting prowess appears erroneous, despite the fact that his fielding may need improvement. The 25-year-old has blasted 17 home runs so far this season. With 64 games played, Soto has a.603 slugging percentage as well.

Although some may argue that Yankee Stadium’s “short porches” are to blame, the left-handed hitter is getting close to hitting 200 home runs in his career (177). Soto has a.531 slugging percentage and 41% of his 844 career hits are extra-base hits.

The slugger has elevated the Yankees to a new level since joining the team. It is reasonable to anticipate that the Bronx Bombers will challenge for the World Series, and Soto may earn his first MVP honors. Jon Heyman was informed by teammate Alex Verdugo of the significant contribution Soto provides.

“The Soto craze has never gone away. However, even merely teasing him feels somewhat affirming, Verdugo remarked. “It’s eye-opening, his vision at the plate, his ability to hit to all fields with power.”

Well done, player; they acknowledge that they might have picked Soto out of spite. It is difficult not to be envious of the Yankee since he is one of the most attractive players in baseball.

Soto isn’t overrated, though.
