Danny Rohl drops major update on Sheffield Wednesday transfer saga as he revevels…..

Danny Rohl has issued an update on Sheffield Wednesday’s summer transfer plans.

Sheffield Wednesday are just a day away from the summer transfer window opening, but have already been very busy in the month that has followed their final day survival.

The Owls have parted ways with Will Vaulks, while they look to be closing in on a number of new signings.

Ben Hamer is expected to join on a free transfer, while Yan Valery and Max Lowe are also close to bolstering their backline.

The transfer market is ‘not easy’ for Sheffield Wednesday
While all things seem to be running smoothly from the outside, Danny Rohl has admitted that things are ‘not easy’ this summer.

Speaking on the Training Ground Guru Podcast, the German said: “It’s not easy at the moment, the market. But we have some good players in our minds, and this is now convince them, try to get them, and then hopefully we have a stronger squad than last season.”

Danny Rohl could face financial restraints this summer
Sheffield Wednesday have been linked with a lot of loan and free agent players so far, though that isn’t necessarily a bit thing.

The players they have been linked with are of much higher quality than those they have signed in the past, with Max Lowe one name that would have been unlikely to join the Owls previously – even if he hadn’t played for the Blades.

It will be a concern if Wednesday struggle elsewhere in the transfer market though, as they are going to need to compete financially with their Championship rivals if they are to have any chance at becoming a stable club in the second tier.

Danny Rohl’s side are most likely to struggle to sign a striker, as it seems like every summer that most clubs are targeting the same proven goalscorer. Last summer saw the likes of Tom Cannon and Ellis Simms arrive in the Championship at inflated prices – something the Owls won’t be prepared to get involved with.
