According to Carlos Sainz, he has contract offers from every team that hasn’t yet confirmed their 2025 driver lineups.
After Ferrari decided to part ways with Sainz in favor of signing Lewis Hamilton, the Spaniard is now the most sought-after driver on the F1 driver market for 2025.

A few doors have now closed for the Spaniard, who is still available as a free agent and several teams have not finalized their driver lineups.
The Milton Keynes-based team decided to extend Sergio Perez’s contract, ending his opportunity to join Red Bull alongside Max Verstappen. Meanwhile, Mercedes’s negotiations came to a standstill as the Brackley-based team intends to wait until later in the season to decide who will start alongside George Russell.
While McLaren’s driver lineup is set with Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri, Aston Martin is sticking with Fernando Alonso, while Lance Stroll is almost certain to continue in the other car, but this is not confirmed yet.
Since Red Bull has Liam Lawson waiting in the wings if they decide not to move forward with Daniel Ricciardo alongside the already confirmed Yuki Tsunoda, RB is also not a likely destination.
However, there are open seats at Sauber/Audi, Williams, Alpine, and Haas, and Sainz would be a huge addition to any of these teams. Audi has expressed a strong desire to work with Sainz and has left the door open for the Spaniard to join Nico Hulkenberg.
Speaking on El Hormiguero, a Spanish television program, Sainz provided an update on his contract talks with the teams.
He remarked, “I don’t [know where I will be] yet.”
I’m prepared to make a choice since I have options on the table. I want to get this decision over with as quickly as possible so that I can concentrate on the remaining months of the year with Ferrari. There will be time to consider the upcoming year. I still have a car this year that lets me win races and place on the podium. I wish to concentrate on that.
Sainz stated that every team with a free cockpit has made him a contract offer, despite his desire to decide quickly and secure his future.
“Multiple options exist instead of just one,” he declared.
“I’ve had contract offers from every team that doesn’t have a driver signed for the upcoming season. I’m going to go a little slow, but I could sign with anyone tomorrow if I wanted to. I’ll make a decision shortly, and I might choose any of those teams.

After this season, Sainz’s tenure at Maranello will come to an end as he is no longer guaranteed a position at Ferrari. Sainz has demonstrated remarkable performance, winning the race in Australia this year and becoming the only non-Red Bull F1 race winner in 2023. However, Sainz was relegated to the role of third wheel after Fred Vasseur gave in to the temptation of recruiting Lewis Hamilton in addition to Charles Leclerc.
Sainz stated he had to accept the terrible news that there was no longer place at the inn for him and that he needed to do so as soon as possible.
“I didn’t take it well, obviously. “Nobody enjoys being dumped,” he remarked.
Their departure in February had a negative impact on me. My year with Ferrari was excellent. I had an excellent start to the year—I won.
Lewis Hamilton, a seven-time world champion, requested to visit Ferrari, and they accommodated his request. You are also powerless to stop that. I try to approach it philosophically, accept it as best I can, and look at it as a chance for the future. My goal is to become a global champion and to keep winning races.
Sainz added that he and Leclerc are still friendly and that there are no issues between them as a result of Ferrari’s decision. Leclerc will race alongside Sainz for the rest of this season as the Monegasque stays with the Scuderia.
He stated, “[The treatment has been the same].”
I can’t really complain about Ferrari’s treatment in that regard. There are always tense moments and times when you feel that you could have acted better, just like Charles, or that they can give you another hand at some point.
“You go, and this is a race. Off the track, my teammate and I get along great and are buddies. We are an excellent team. The two drivers at Ferrari are the one thing that has worked and continues to work. We complete on podiums, win races, and function as a unit.
