Before moving to São Paulo, Dorival helped the Flamengo win the Copa Libertadores and the Brazil Cup in 2022. Additionally, he has been a coach for the following teams: Atlético Mineiro, Athletico Paranaense, Internacional, Vasco da Gama, Fluminense and Palmeiras.
