Sheffield Wednesday fans will love what Ralph Hasenhuttl said about new signing Yan Valery

What Ralph Hasenhuttl, the former Southampton manager, has to say about new acquisition Yan Valery will appeal to Sheffield Wednesday supporters. After spending a stint at Angers in his native France, Valery has signed a contract with the Owls, making a comeback to English football.

The Tunisia international, who played the majority of his career for Southampton, has expressed in the past that he wanted to return to England, and now his wish has come true. After working together at St. Mary’s, Valery will now reunite with Owls manager Danny Rohl.
Wednesday will receive a 25-year-old international from Tunisia with experience in both the English and French top flights, for an unknown sum. The current manager of Wolfsburg and former Southampton manager, Ralph Hasenhuttl, says they are also receiving a player with a strong and trustworthy character.

When questioned by the Daily Echo about Valery’s 2022 departure to Angers, Hasenthuttl stated, “It was not easy to let him go but he was always a very respectful character.” He had a significant character shift, particularly in the last two years, as a result of becoming a father. It is evident that it has an impact on a young individual.

“I think for him to go back to France was a very big chance and we didn’t let him down there and tried to help and support him, the same we did with (Oriol) Romeu,” the former Saints manager continued. We will always be there to back a player that puts in a lot of effort and is consistently respectful toward our club.

The full-back’s recent statement that he wants to live in England will also reassure Wednesday supporters as they get ready to welcome Valery. He said to Football90, “I have actually learned to speak English.” I can feel the peace and the style of life that I personally like when I travel to England.

“I would jump at the chance to return to England.” I’ve experienced warmth and other qualities that seem typical of a human being. Just because a neighbor is different or has a different perspective on life doesn’t mean he has to be resentful of him or not like him. Since we all share a common home, you should support your neighbor. That is more the case in England. In France, you find that less readily.

Regarding his 2022 exit from Southampton, Valery stated to The Athletic, “I’m an honest person who expresses my feelings.” The first game was against Tottenham, and I had not planned to play. At halftime, we were behind 2-1 despite having the advantage. Aside from the fact that I might have dropped a couple balls, Son (Heung-min) did not cause me any trouble. Defensively, I felt good.

“I didn’t anticipate being replaced at halftime. After that, I told myself, “OK, I really need to go,” because I could not play that little again and have a season when I lack confidence. It was difficult to bear.
