Breaking News: San Antonio Spurs reportedly makes a significant move in surprise Victor Wembanyama perfect pairing

Although the San Antonio Spurs did not win the lottery for the NBA Draft for a second year in a row, they do have two selections in the top 10 of the 2024 NBA Draft. Even though there are many possibilities available, one quickly increasing prospect is gaining ground.

According to reports, San Antonio looked into a number of ways to move up before draft night and has already been associated with the first overall pick in NBA trade speculations. In the event that San Antonio is unable to advance to the point where it may select Zaccharie Risacher or Alex Sarr, another player in San Antonio is gaining ground at No. 4 overall.

Future draft selections of the San Antonio Spurs, fourth and eighth overall 2025 CHA First (protected by lottery), 2025 First, 2015 Hawks First, 2025 Bulls First (protected by top ten), 2026 trade rights for ATL, 2027 ATL first,

The Spurs have been more interested in center Donovan Clingan in the days preceding the 2024 NBA Draft, according to ESPN’s Jonathan Givony, who made this observation in his most recent NBA mock draft. Remarkably, San Antonio invited him for an interview in order to learn more about him. It’s now thought that on draft night, Clingan might go with the fourth overall choice.

San Antonio would make a fascinating fit for Clingan. His arrival would mean San Antonio had selected big men with the first four picks in back-to-back years despite his age of just 20. It might also indicate that 7-foot-2 Clinga and 7-foot-4 Wembanyama of the Spurs share the court.

Even if their offensive combination may raise some concerns, Clingan and Wembanyama together might be one of the NBA’s greatest defensive teams. In terms of team rebounding, San Antonio would immediately have one of the greatest interior defenses in the NBA and rank close to the top.

The Spurs would probably consider guards Rob Dillingham of Kentucky or guard Stephon Castle of UConn with the eighth pick if San Antonio selects Clingan with the fourth overall pick. San Antonio might yet make a deal this summer to get an experienced point guard, though. The Spurs are currently concentrated on determining which spots to target in the NBA Draft.
