BREAKING: Shocking Chicago-OKC trade has multiple ripple effects for Spurs

The Chicago Bulls have reportedly agreed to trade Alex Caruso to the Oklahoma City Thunder and that will have a large impact on the San Antonio Spurs.

Whoa! That’s all it took, then? Alex Caruso and the Chicago Bulls have been playing hard to get for a while now. Because of his passion and other qualities on the basketball court, he has become one of the league’s most sought-after role players. It was just recently reported that the Bulls turned out a top-10 draft pick to acquire the tough shooting guard. It is mind-boggling to turn around and approve a deal like this.

At some point, the Spurs will require a seasoned guard.
The Spurs, who started the previous season as the youngest club in the league, would have been ideal with Alex Caruso on board. It’s difficult not to believe that San Antonio wasn’t assertive enough here, and the Spurs will probably handle it soon, but the experienced experience would have been priceless. There are situations where improving your roster dramatically isn’t as important as stopping your opponent from executing a brilliant move. Here, it was a case of two birds with one stone.

The Oklahoma City Thunder’s front office continues to demonstrate their astuteness. They finished this regular season as the top seed and the second-youngest team in the NBA, and they are the only team with more first-round draft selections than San Antonio over the following seven years. Throughout the next ten to fifteen years, there will be a lot to deal with.

The Bulls, meanwhile, are still a mystery. Josh Giddey is considered by Adrian Wojnarowski to be the young playmaker that Chicago feels they need. However, Giddey’s season was horrible. He was the only player on a squad where it felt like almost every player became better from the previous campaign. In addition, despite his early career, he has an awful three-point shooting average of 31%.

Their offensive line will suffer greatly if they continue to plan to resign DeMar DeRozan. DeRozan shot 33% from distance at the end of his most recent campaign.

If they can work out a contract, DeRozan is still excellent enough to keep that team from finishing last. As a result, the Spurs should still be able to claim their first-round choice, which is protected in the top-10, in 2025. However, they also strengthened San Antonio’s largest opponent, which is not a good thing.
