Sky Sports F: Liam Lawson has secure a seat at Red Bull possibly to become Max Verstappen’s team-mate…..

Lewis Hamilton’s announcement that he would be joining Ferrari turned an otherwise turbulent driver market upside down, leaving just two spots on the 2025 Formula One grid up for grabs.

Although seven driver changes for the upcoming season have already been confirmed, there is still ambiguity at Red Bull and RB, as well as regarding the second Sauber seat for 2025.

The main focus will be on Red Bull’s plans for Liam Lawson, who will be starting at race car driver for the final six races of this season at Red Bull Racing, starting with the United States Grand Prix on October 18–20 when the Formula One season returns.

Lawson now gets a chance to show Red Bull what he can do and stake a claim to replace Sergio Perez as Max Verstappen’s teammate for the upcoming season.

Perez’s contract with Red Bull ends at the end of 2025, and he struggled to build on his impressive performance in Baku last weekend in Singapore, where he was eliminated in the second round and placed tenth.

After a bad run of results, the Mexican faced a lot of pressure before the summer break over his future at Red Bull. However, team principal Christian Horner gave him the go-ahead to retain his seat for the remainder of 2024.

Horner stated following the Singapore Grand Prix: “We need two drivers who are competing at their highest level. Checo’s weekend in Baku went well. He had a difficult weekend.
