ESPN: Red Bull Manager Christian Horner Speaks Out on Sebastian Vettel F1 Return

Due to reports that Sebastian Vettel would return to Formula 1 and an unconfirmed seat for Sauber/Audi from Red Bull motorsport advisor Helmut Marko, the topic has gained traction in the German media. Marko offered his perspective on the matter.

Marko expressed his doubts to the media over the German driver’s possible return to competitive driving, even if his name is often brought up in relation to a number of teams, including Sauber (which is scheduled to become Audi in 2026).

Marko, who was a major influence on Vettel’s career during his stellar years at Red Bull, expressed his disapproval of the notion that Vettel would return to the racetrack by saying:

He and I haven’t spoken in a while. He is somewhere up north, in an area uninhabited by cell phones or airplanes. Actually, I haven’t heard from him in the last three months.”

By winning Red Bull Racing’s first driver world championship in 2010, Vettel established his and the team’s legacy in racing history and became a household figure in the F1 community.
In addition, Marko acknowledged that he had thought about having Vettel return to Red Bull in a supporting capacity following his retirement, but that plan had not materialized. There is not enough proof to support the rumors surrounding Vettel’s comeback, particularly those linking him to Sauber/Audi.

The four-time winner gave the following explanation to the media earlier this year when he retired:

“I’m considering [a return] and am having some ideas about it.
