Chiefs injury report: Wide-receiver health remains an issue

Missouri’s Kansas City First, some good news: Super Bowl LVII, which pits the Philadelphia Eagles against the Kansas City Chiefs, is still 11 days away.

The bad news is that the Chiefs are still a wounded team, so supporters will have to endure an agonizing 11 days of injury reports.

Wednesday was not practice day for Kansas City; nonetheless, the team released an estimated injury report.
The Chiefs believe that three important receivers, Mecole Hardman Jr. (pelvis), JuJu Smith-Schuster (knee), and Kadarius Toney (ankle/hamstring), would not have practiced.

By the end of the AFC Championship Game victory against Cincinnati, coach Andy Reid’s offense was limited to three wide receivers: Marcus Kemp, Skyy Moore, and Marquez Valdes-Scantling. Justin Watson was also sidelined due to sickness.

Cornerback L’Jarius Sneed would not have practiced either because he is still under the concussion protocol.

Lastly, it was predicted that only two players would be available: right lineman Trey Smith (ankle) and linebacker Willie Gay Jr. (shoulder).

The Chiefs stated that Watson, quarterback Patrick Mahomes (ankle), and running backs Jerick McKinnon (ankles) and Isiah Pacheco (wrist) would have been full participants despite the fact that four other players are listed as injured.

Josh Sills, the Eagles’ backup offensive lineman, was charged with rape and kidnapping in Ohio and was placed on the Commissioner Exempt List. The team has not yet released an expected injury report.
